The Windows driver for some of their TPlink adapters will only give you 2.4 and not 5 ghz support for some reason. If your adapter is dual band I know because I'm using one in windows 10 (the WDN3200). If your adapter is dual band and you cant connect it to a 5ghz channel (because the SSID doesnt appear - if your router supports it), you'll have to wait till TPlink release a driver for it The Windows 8 driver didnt work in Win10.
